Beginner Class
Start with a paperweight class either one on one or with a group. In this class students will learn shop safety, a foundation of information on tools and equipment and become comfortable gathering and shaping solid glass. Frit and powder color application will be utilized. One on one classes last one hour and cost $75. Group classes last three hours and cost $150/person.
Beginner Glass Blowing
Introduce the step of blowing and make your first pieces in either a one on one class or a group class. In this class students will review shop safety, tools and equipment and learn the basics of glass blowing making two small vessels. Choose either a small vase, vessel or floppy bowl. Students will continue to work with coloring using frit and powder. One on one classes last one hour and cost $75. Group classes last three hours and cost $150/person. Pre-requisite paper weight class required.
Continuing Glass Blowing
Build on what you have learned in your first two classes. Individual instruction can be booked either by the hour or by multiple hours. Students will continue to explore the techniques of glass blowing including but not limited to gathering, centering, marvering, blocking and puntying. Color applications utilizing both frit and bar will be explored. Color applications of over lays, bar combinations, raking and trailing will be taught. We can guide your lessons or you can come with an idea in mind. The possibilities for growth are limitless. Classes cost $65//hour.
